The bone transplant is a success

On day 221 after the accident (more than seven months later…), David had a leg x-ray checkup. The good news is that the bone transplant has taken and we could see evident signs of ossification. The doctor has increased the allowed loading of the leg to 30 kg, and the physiotherapist is happy as he can now really get started with building up the muscles and getting rid of those omni-present crutches. The picture shows the current state of affairs on the outside (“es sieht schön aus!”): the “trophy” from the open accident wound will remain, but the surgical cuts from the recent operation are already gradually fading away
