David and Jacqueline go to Scotland

While the Boys were in Italy, David and Jacqueline went off to Scotland for ten days, visited Glasgow and stayed in a country house called Carse House in the middle of nowhere on the Kintyre peninsular. There was plenty of time to relax (do nothing), do tourism, taste whiskies and visit the island of Islay. We went together with various friends to celebrate Christoph’s 50th birthday in style, including enjoying several culinary highlights both cooked by various (male) members of the group, and in restaurants around the area. The trip also represented “extreme physiotherapy” training for David: there was plenty of walking and climbing, including a six-hour hike to a fishing lake “just behind” our house. The Olympics in London and the Merchant City Festival in Glasgow provided a suitable backdrop. Not to be missed were the World Highland Games in Callander.
