At the end of May, David and Jacqueline travelled to the far East of Southern Germany (Bavaria), staying 2 km from the Czech border, to go to the wedding of a former work-colleague of Jacqueline’s. The journey was very interesting and we took the opportunity of stopping over in Augsburg and Nürnberg. The wedding location was a beautiful church on a hill in Pleystein, and the reception took place in a very special “Scheune” (meaning “barn”, which is an understatement in this case!). Unfortunately, Jacqueline was unwell for the whole weekend, which made the tedious traffic jams on the German motorways (and in Zurich at the end) even more unbearable than usual. The round trip was 1200 km!
