David spends his summer holidays in Zurich (and the Boys are away!)

This year, David decided to spend his summer holidays at home in Zurich. This gave the perfect opportunity to “do tourism” in the Canton of Zurich, with a day trip to Basel/Riehen/Weil am Rhein to see the Fondation Beyeler and the Vitra Museum. Apart from revisiting our former home village of Girenbad and walking over Allmen to Gibswil, the Au promontory was visited and also a walk from Uetliberg to Adliswil in two stages. With the ladies in the house, we celebrated August 1 (Swiss National Day) and also went to see the “Manifesta” art exhibition (all over Zurich), with an interesting pontoon in the lake, but otherwise rather expensive and dull. The weather was mostly good to extremely hot…

Seán was away in London and Laax, and Áedán was in South Africa for a month

Jacqueline was writing up her thesis (actual holidays come a bit later…) – poor thing!
