Life and Death

I guess that both Jacqueline and I were both interested in philosophical matters a long time before we met. However, a suicide attempt and two deaths among our parents in the last five years or so meant that we have also had to come to terms with some very central themes in our life together.

Also, having two children and needing to find a way to help them prepare for an unknown future means that pedagogic topics inevitably thrust themselves into our lives.

We are sadly both discovering that many of our good friends’ relationships are breaking down or already have: we don’t want that to happen to us. All this against a backdrop of ever decreasing common courtesy at work and in society at large.

As the memorable saying goes: “These are my principles. If you don’t like them, I have others.”

Philosophical themes are the topic of this part of our website. We hope that they might inspire you as they do us
